Pep talk to myself


I'm totally ready for this Challenge tomorrow. I am eatin up loads of carbs so I'll get a nice sugar rush and I'll be totally hyped up on carbs for tomorrow morning. I suggest this stradegy to everyone competing in the challenge :)  My mind is in this thing 100% especially after getting a pep talk from... some girl ;) I'm healthy, injury-free and my mindset is great. I am going to own those kettle bell swings and deadlifts, but especially that goddam rower. I hate that stupid rower.. but after I'm done with it on saturday... that things gunna hate me, cuz i'm gunna KILL IT hehehe :P  \
 That on the right, is a metaphor for me and the rower, the wolf being the rower, me being the guy with the stick.. and we all know what happens to the wolf :P

Feb. 28th

The SDHP's weren't too bad, I probably could have done 70#. The dips are really starting to piss me off. They are the one thing I have been working on for soo long and I just can't get them! Today I got a couple dips on the stand at the begining of each round but then just worked on the negatives after I gassed out.

That workout felt pretty good. Had to pump out that last row fast because the time was running out! The mma class was small today, so we did a 500 m row to "warm up" . I set a new PR at 1.49.00. Beat my old PR by 1 second!!

February 25th

So fun :) I got two PR's!

I was pretty happy with the ring dips, managed to get 3 with full range of motion! PR :) I worked on slow negatives for the rest of the 27 reps :P

Weighted pullups were fun!! I did the first round with 20's which was pretty easy, so I did the next two rounds with 25's. Then after the workout was over, I went for some singles. Managed to get a few reps each of 30# 35# and 40#. I tried 45# at the very end of the night (after mma) and got about half way up. I have to try that again when I'm fresh :P
 I'm getting pumped for the challenge!!
Can't wait to row, swing and lift.. sounds innocent doesn't it?!

Zone

 

I am doing pretty well on the zone.. That is a picture of what I had for breakfast today.
Kidding.
I think I might need to change up the times i eat though. 
Usually I have a Protein Shake at 7:30 
then at 10:30 a lunch of cheese, nuts and some fruit (ussually an apple) 
then nothing until 3-ish when I get home from school.
By then I'm pretty hungry so I have maybe a peice of toast with peanut butter and some cheese..
But then I feel gross at CrossFit at 4:45! and by the time I get home from mma class it's like 8-ish and I still have two meals left.. I usually just have a protein shake and some cashews
and then finish my homework (if I'm in a good mood) and then go to bed.. but I think I usually miss a meal a day. If my calculations are correct
       Decisions decisions.. I will have to think about this problem :P  Although tonight my g-ma's having us over for dinner. I'm sure that won't be easy to zone. Hopefully tomorrows wod won't be too hard. haha who am i kidding, it's always hard.

I got my pr of 115 for split jerk twice! Yay :)

Times for the 400m run were 1.26, 1.29 and 1.24. Not too bad being i haven't run in almost a year. I have a feeling this won't be the last time we run either :P

I think coach is getting us nice and prepared for the challenge.I know my brother killed it, he finished just less than a minute quicker than everyone else in the class! and he's only 13! stupid kid :P

Was NOT easy. The snatches were probably the easiest.. then the knee's to elbows. The 200m row wasn't too bad. It usually took me just under 30 pulls (I counted down from 30 every time ) :) I managed to jump up on the big box (32') for the first time today, thanks to Michelle who inspired us all to try it out. I got a couple L pull ups lately which is cool. I was also impressed by one of the martial arts guys, Reilly (i think that's how you spell it) who got a muscle up today during the mma class! Very cool.
